Show Notes for EP4: Anxiety in Motherhood. How Do You Deal?

Today I just want to talk about anxiety. It’s something a lot of people don’t speak about especially moms.

You guys, I still consider myself a new mom even though my son is four years old. I mean I didn’t have my son until I was 35. Yeah, 35. So I spent my whole good life, you know, doing me and didn’t get married until I was 32. And I was I was good with that.

There was a lot of anxiety that I have dealt with throughout my life. But it still is there and now it shows up in the form of being a new mom and, and just trying to get everything done. I’m trying to sort and find you know, my self again and doing all that while I’m building a new business.

So it’s been a lot. And right about now, like today, I literally was ready to go do the ugly cry, which is interesting because I was talking a good friend of mine through a situation where she was ready to do the ugly cry yesterday.

I’m just feeling anxiety around trying to figure shit out. Not to mention the energy that’s going on in the world right now with coming off this full moon and the eclipse coming. It’s just been a lot.  And I just wanted to let people know that it’s completely okay.

I’m aware that it’s okay. But it still bothers me sometimes and I still wonder and second guess myself like, “Oh my God, why, why am I tripping off of this so much? Like there’ve been mothers around from the very beginning of existence and surely I can’t be the only one.”

But I do feel that way sometimes and I’d have to just talk myself through that. I have to talk my way out of that funk of not feeling that I’m doing well enough. And not from the standpoint of my son’s perspective or my husband’s perspective, but the way I perceive myself.

And you guys know that this is the most important thing because how you see yourself, how you think about yourself, what you believe about yourself becomes this filter out of which everything else is measured by. So I’m really conscious of what is happening and what I need to do, but it doesn’t mean that I still don’t have moments where I just want to be like, you know what? “Um, yeah, I’m out.”

I won’t leave. I won’t be out, but I have moments where I’m like, you know, this is way too much going on. All right.

You guys, I am a little hormonal, I will put that out there too right now. So I’m sure that’s playing a part in it, but they’re really just is a lot of heavy energy right now in the world and in the universe. And it’s real, you know, and we are just in a place where there’s a lot of shifts happening, you know, all the pun intended there.

But there is a lot of shift happening in the world and with people individually and I’m experiencing it and I wonder if you’re experiencing it. So if you are experiencing this type of like underlying nervousness, anxiety shift in your life or in your business.

I’m like, I literally just changed my business name. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for about a year and I literally just announced to the world that I was changing at and what the new name was going to be. Which kind of makes me nervous too. You know, so just all these changes, good changes, but just changes and that always leaves me a little bit uneasy.

So if you’re feeling any of this message me let me know how you’re dealing with it. If you’re dealing with it. And specifically, if you are a mom or a new business owner how did you adjust? How are you adjusting to your new self as a mom and a mogul all at the same time?
